Buying Car Accessories

Car accessories help to add your own personality to your vehicle as well as making it more comfortable to drive.

This one is not likely to increase the resale value but it may improve your enjoyment factor when using the car. Cars are tested for their ability to perform certain tasks not for the sounds they produce on the built in stereo system. If you enjoy listening to music you can upgrade the car stereo system quite easily and extend your listening pleasure by investing in new speakers etc. It pays to buy the same size as the ones you will be removing as you do not want to have to cut into the interior of the car. If you have an older car that doesn’t have a CD or DVD unit you can buy and fit these relatively easily at a low cost.

1. Satellite Navigation Systems:

These are common in new cars but installing one in an older model car may help increase its resale value. In the meantime you will never be able to use the excuse of getting lost when you arrive late at your relative’s home. There are various different models on the market and you should be able to find one that suits you and your budget.

2. Alloy wheels:

If your car was originally fitted with steel wheels it can make good financial sense to invest in some alloy wheels. They can also be used as a selling feature when you come to sell the car. But if the car already has alloy wheels buying a different style is only likely to cost you money.

3. Seat covers:

This is probably the best car accessory you could buy particularly if you have young children. You could even invest in two sets, one to be used when going out at night or for special occasions. The second set of cheap and cheerful machine washable covers can be taken out when the kids are about. Cleaning car upholstery properly takes time and patience but if you have washable seat covers you will make this job so much easier. Seat covers can also help to maintain the value of your car as they protect the original interior leaving it in a pristine condition when you decide to sell the car on.

4. Seat Mats:

Whilst not a glamorous accessory, seat mats can help to extend the life of your car’s interior and should be on your list of ‘must have’ accessories if you do not already have them. Make sure to buy ones that fit your model of car as they can be dangerous if they slip and prevent you accessing the brake.

There is a huge range of car accessories for you to consider but, if at all possible, you should always buy new rather than second hand. You will then have the peace of mind knowing that you have a manufacturers guarantee should anything go wrong.

When looking for those ‘must have’ accessories for your car, it really does pays to shop around.

You can find some great deals online but you may also find that your local car accessory shop will have exactly what you are looking for and at a very competitive price. The beauty of buying from your local car accessory shop is that there is no need to wait for your purchase; you take it home with you the same day.
